In this seminar we will discuss a one-box solution to that addresses the challenges of verifying and calibrating RF generators and RF attenuators. Traditionally, verification and calibration required several stand-alone instruments, including a highly linear level calibrator, a spectrum analyzer, a modulation analyzer and a frequency counter. However, using many devices could lead to cabling issues, software challenges and data analysis headaches. 
Modern measuring receivers like the Rhode & Schwarz FSMR3000 combine all these measurement capabilities into a single instrument, and offer additional benefits such as a fully-fledged signal and spectrum analyzer to measure higher harmonics or to analyze digital modulated signals. The R&S FSMR3000 is the only measuring receiver to include a high-end phase noise tester, enabling the user to measure all key performance parameters with a single box.
In this seminar we will review the concept of a measuring receiver and outline the steps needed to assure the measurement certainty of signal generators. The Webinar will include a hands-on live demo and a question and answer session.

Wolfgang Wendler Product Manager

Dr. Wolfgang Wendler studied physics at the University of Bayreuth and did his PhD thesis in 1996 on nuclear magnetic properties of platinum and aluminum. He joined Rohde & Schwarz in 2004 as a product manager for signal and spectrum analyzers with the focus on high-end measurement applications. Besides defining analysis tools for digitally modulated signals for wireless applications like WLAN, he focused on measurement tools for highly accurate phase noise, noise figure or pulse measurements. As an expert for advanced aerospace and defense applications of spectrum analyzers, he influenced the development of new product features and application software of modern high-end phase noise testers or signal and spectrum analyzers.

Kay-Uwe Sander Application Engineer

Kay-Uwe Sander is RF and microwave application engineer for spectrum analyzers and measuring receivers at Rohde & Schwarz in Munich, Germany. His prior work includes more than 10 years with the company developing spectrum analyzers. He has extensive experience with microwave receivers and headed the development of the Rohde & Schwarz FSMR Measuring Receiver.

Tim Fountain Market Segment Manager

Tim is the Global Market Segment Manager at Rohde & Schwarz, where he is responsible for the RADAR & Electronic Warfare segment. Tim has over 30 years of experience with market leaders in the Test & Measurement industry, focusing on RF and microwave applications in Aerospace & Defense. He started his professional life as an application engineer and has also held roles in research & development, product planning, product marketing, corporate management and business development. Tim holds a Masters Degree in Electrical and Electronic engineering from University of Hertfordshire in the UK. He is also certified as a chartered professional engineer in Europe. In his spare time Tim likes to fly, and is an instrument rated private pilot.
