Dr. Lorenzo Galati Giordano / Senior Research Engineer – Distinguished Member of Technical Staff, Nokia Bell Labs

Lorenzo Galati Giordano is Distinguished Member of Technical Staff (DMTS) at Nokia Bell Labs since 2015. With long academic and industrial experience in communication systems, protocols, and standards, Lorenzo has made significant contributions in the fields of radio communication systems. His work has led to numerous commercial patents and publications in esteemed books, IEEE journals, and conferences, as well as contributions to IEEE 802.11 standards. Currently, Lorenzo is leading Nokia Bell Labs effort around Wi-Fi research. Lorenzo holds a Ph.D. from Politecnico di Milano in Italy and a post-graduate master's degree in Innovation Management from IlSole24Ore Business School, Italy.

Dr. Walid El Hajj / Scientist Officer, Intel Corporation

Walid EL HAJJ received a Ph.D. degree in RF and Antennas in 2011. He joined Intel Corporation in 2014. He is currently Scientist Officer at the Wireless Test and Certification Center leading the R&D activities related to new wireless technologies and products certification.

Dr. El Hajj is an IEEE senior member and is participating and leading several IEEE/IEC standards groups in the human exposure and product safety domains. He is the co-convener of IEC/IEEE JWG12 developing Measurement Methods Standards to assess human exposure at mmW. Walid has more than 35 scientific publications and 20 patents.

Andy Davidson / Senior Director of Technology Planning, Qualcomm Technologies

Andy Davidson is a Senior Director of Technology Planning at Qualcomm Technologies. He has more than 30 years of professional experience working at start-up to large companies, such as Qualcomm and Atheros. He has held both engineering roles—spanning systems, software and hardware—and business roles. Andy has more than 90 granted patents in networking and serves on the board of Wi-Fi Alliance, NFC forum, and FiRa. At the Wi-Fi Alliance he has been a director for more than 12 years and has led many task groups.

Markus Amend / VP Core & Network Services, Deutsche Telekom

At Deutsche Telekom Group Technology, Markus and his team are responsible for developing and shaping the strategy and architecture for the Group-wide core networks. As Head of Core & Network Services, he has a strong focus on the opportunities that 5G offers and works to demonstrate them. In addition, he is committed to refining and driving 5G and its successor in terms of efficiency and customer value. One result of this work is the seamless transition of different network accesses, such as between Wi-Fi and 5G, referred to as 5G ATSSS. Markus and his team played a key role in designing and implementing this technology.

Guenter Pfeifer / Product Manager, Rohde & Schwarz

Guenter Pfeifer is a senior product manager for mobile radio testers at the Rohde & Schwarz headquarters in Munich, Germany. He joined Rohde & Schwarz in 1997 and has 20+ years of experience in the field of mobile communications as a product manager responsible for radio communications testers. Guenter is well-versed in various 3GPP cellular technologies, ranging from 2G to 5G, and has spent much time on mobile broadband topics. This has led to his involvement in 5G technology management as well as 5G FR2 OTA. Recently, his focus has changed to non-cellular wireless connectivity standards - in particular, WLAN. Guenter holds a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Applied Sciences in Kempten, Germany.
